ABOUT ME

I’m Madeline Gallagher, a journalist and storyteller passionate about bringing impactful stories to life through both broadcast and digital media.​I graduated from James Madison University in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in media arts and design, with a concentration in journalism.

While at JMU, I was an active member of Breeze TV, the university’s student-run news organization. There, I produced weekly broadcast packages and VOSOTs, conducted interviews, edited video content, and worked both behind and in front of the camera. This experience taught me how to thrive in fast-paced newsroom environments while reporting ethically and accurately.

Since November 2024, I’ve worked as a writer and producer at Kollins Communications, where I’ve gained hands-on experience in all aspects of production — from scriptwriting and storyboarding to camera operation and video editing. My work spans preproduction, production and postproduction, and has strengthened both my technical and creative storytelling abilities.

As a journalist, I’m committed to giving a voice to the voiceless. I’m passionate about covering a wide range of topics, including politics, human interest stories and sports. I approach each assignment with curiosity and care, always aiming to find fresh angles and tell stories that resonate.​

While I’m comfortable working independently, collaboration is a core part of how I operate. I thrive in team environments where ideas are shared freely, and I believe strong journalism is built on teamwork and trust. I’m eager to continue learning and growing in the field and excited to bring my skills, energy and passion for journalism to a professional newsroom.
