STUDIO PRODUCTIONS

Since working at Kollins Communications I have been a part of many different shoots, some shot in our studio using the LED Volume, others shot on location. In these various shoots I have taken on roles in all phases of production including script writing, storyboarding, blocking, assisting with talent-prep, and more. Below are a few examples and quick descriptions of how I participated in the production.

Allard's Meracus Infomercial

In preproduction, I contributed to script development, storyboarding, and blocking to establish the overall flow, even though the video centers around unscripted personal statements. During production, I assisted the camera team, prepped the talent, and maintained continuity on set. I also ensured the team captured impactful testimonials and a wide variety of supporting b-roll to highlight the features of the Meracus foot, shown through real users going about their daily activities.

Samsung Training Videos

For Samsung’s training videos, I collaborated in preproduction on writing scripts, storyboarding, and blocking. After months of planning, we condensed production into six intensive shoot days, capturing footage for more than 20 videos that highlighted the features of different television models and how to sell them to customers. During production, I supported the talent with hair, makeup and wardrobe, while also assisting on set with direction. My role during this production was ensuring script continuity. I did this by managing the clapper board, taking meticulous notes  and ensuring every line was covered in multiple takes and from multiple angles. The footage was later rearranged and repurposed across the full library of Samsung training videos.

HairMDL Informercial

Although I wasn’t at Kollins Communications during the original shoot for HairMDL, I contributed to the reshoot when the client updated their bottle size and label. For this production, I storyboarded and organized preproduction tasks, including creating the call sheet and scheduling studio time with the talent. During the shoot I assisted with production by working directly with the talent to position them, provide direction, and ensure a smooth shoot for the two new bottle scenes.
